1 Bundle of 2 Cuttings
LSU Tiger produces a large crop of large brown figs, with darker brown stripes, with a delicious yellow/gold flesh.
Figs have long been enjoyed as a sweet delicacy. They are high in fiber, calcium, potassium, and iron as well as containing other vitamins and minerals. To enjoy figs throughout the year consider drying, canning, or preserving them. Fig leaves can be dried and used as a tea to help regulate blood sugar and other health benefits.
Fig trees do best where they get at least 8 hours of direct sun per day. They are fairly drought tolerant but extended dry periods can cause leaf and fruit drop as well as early dormancy. A deep organic mulch will help to alleviate extremes in moisture levels, reduce nematode issues, as well as to reduce competition from weeds. Figs are a wonderful addition to your backyard or orchard!
